It’s been a little over a week since I returned from the craziness of NYFW and I’m barely getting the chance to sit down and write this blog post!
Once again I survived 4 days full of lots of coffee, ubers, very little sleep, but lots of Fashion!!! As you may have seen on my Instagram stories, this time I decided to take 3 of my girls to NYC along with our wonderful nanny. In my mind it made sense that they could hang out and be tourists in the city while I was working, but it didn’t work out quite as I imagined (Sofi was feeling under the weather the whole time we were there but I’ll tell you about that later). However I did manage to take them to see the Lion King for the first time and took them to their favorite candy store, Dylan’s Candy Bar!!!
But first things first…..I just wanted to share with you guys a little bit of what happened during these fashion filled days! First of all I love all the vibes of NYFW. Anyone who’s anyone in the fashion industry is there so you get to see a lot of celebrities and familiar faces! And most of all, you literally spend every singe day drooling over all the latest designer collections and also over what everyone is wearing! I’m not sure if you understand where I’m coming from but since I’m a lover of fashion, I love to admire what everyone is wearing! I don’t care what style, what color, what trend…..there’s always something beautiful about the way a person expresses themselves through fashion! It’s an art form!
Day #1
The day I arrived in NY was just nuts. I woke up at 4:30am to catch a 7:40am flight to New York. I did some of my makeup in the taxi ride to the hotel and finished the rest when we arrived the hotel. I immediately got an uber to take me to the first 2 PR meetings I had back to back. The purpose of that day’s meetings was to pull samples from their showrooms and also meet the awesome people who I had been communicating with prior do NYFW by email. I felt like a little girl in a candy store when I walked into those showrooms and literally got to pick out ANYTHING I WANTED to wear during NYFW!!! Isn’t that crazy?! The first time I went to NYFW I bought and wore my own clothing each day I was there. This time it was so awesome to be able to just pull samples from amazing designers and wear them. By the way, in case you’re wondering, most of the time these samples go back to the showrooms right after Fashion Week. That day I wore a lime green corduroy jacket from Zara with black Vigoss pants, sliver booties and a black bag with silver studs from Zara. Iknew I needed something super comfortable that day because I was going to be running around all over the city. To end that day, I attended an amazing fashion panel discussion with people from all walks of the fashion industry. My last stop of the day was the Greta Constantine Fall/ Winter 2019 presentation and it was AWESOME! I was so tired and hungry and was thinking about going back to the hotel but I’m so glad that I didn’t.
Day # 2
The next day I was up at 6am and had my Starbucks Cinnamon Shortbread Latte delivered to my room as my amazing Dior make-up artist worked her magic! That second day I wore a black color-block dress from Zara which is actually mine. When I saw this dress at Zara I knew it was Fashion Week material. I paired it with my white Marc Fischer boots and my black Dior saddle bag. That day I also had a PR meeting and a photoshoot……and you guys, photoshoots at Fashion week are an everyday thing. No, I’m not trying to be a diva, I’m serious, every one of the friends that I was with had photoshoots every single day. You have to, especially if you pulled samples from a showroom. The brand expects to see you wearing their stuff and post about it on Instagram. That day I attended the Noon by Noon, BLDWN, Tadashi Shoji, Pamela Rolland, Laurence & Chico and ended the day with the wonderful Badgley Mischka! All of those shows were jaw dropping! I loved them ALL. First of all I’ll forever be thankful to Pamela Rolland because her’s was the first brand that ever invited me to a NYFW show. I had recently worked with Badgley Mischka to promote their Signature Fragrance so I was so honored to be invited to their Fall/ Winter collection show (which I had not had the pleasure of attending last season).
At the end of the day I was so hungry that I ended up devouring a club sandwich at the Lotte New York Palace, which is the hotel where we were staying. (By the way why does everyone always order club sandwiches when they order room services? I always do!) Oh and I totally recommend this hotel! The service was just perfect! The minute we stepped foot in that place we were treated like princesses! The bell boy immediately handed my 3 girls these super fluffy teddy bears that were wearing a white Lotte NY Palace tee! So cute!
I still need to share Day 3 and 4 with you but I’ll do that in another blog post because I don’t want to bombard you with so much info at one time! It’s a lot of info for one post hahaha, but I’d love to answer any questions you might have about NYFW leave me your comments down below in the comment section!
Thanks for stopping by you guys! Love you!
XOXO
